Le Moulin Pastelier

Whether you are the type of person who lives to go for a run before breakfast, some one who lounges by the pool with a  book, or a culture vulture keen to visit churches, museums or hunt for antiques and brocante,  there is something to keep everyone happy here.

For the sporting types there is a cycle way that leads right from the house (also suitable for jogging) Or for a more gentle ride,  you can hire bikes 10 minutes away at the Canal du Midi and enjoy the dappled shade and predominantly flat cycle path.

There are seven golf courses within an hour from here.

At Lac St Ferreol(15mins) you can ride horses, and rent sailing boats, canoes and pedalos.

If you prefer spectator sports there is Stade Toulouse rugby or the recent champions Castres. There is also Toulouse football club and this year Toulouse is a host city for the Euros, with four games being played in June/July.

Every year theTour de France cycling race makes an appearance nearby, this year Revel is an etape (overnight stop) .There are tennis courts in the next village and a petanque terrain in our village next to the church.

For more cultural pursuits Albi is a fantastic destination, with the cathedral and the museum of Toulouse Lautrec it is a great day trip and nearby Cordes sur Ciel is a must!  There are the small villages in the Montagne Noire (Black Mountains) where you can see artisans fabricating original products by hand.  Carcassonne has much to offer both inside and outside the medieval city walls, it is also home to one of the best music festivals in France during July & August (lineup announced in February) close to Carcassonne are the vineyards of the Corbieres and Minervois , and the stunning village ofLagrasse. Slightly further afield you have the Mediterranean coast or the pistes of the Pyrenees for ski-ing within 1 1/2 hours and of course Andorra, a haven for shoppers thanks to its' very low rate of vat.

If you enjoy visiting the colourful and vibrant markets then you must plan to be here for a Saturday morning where Revel hosts a market that is listed in the Michelin guide as one of the 100 best markets in France.  There is also ans excellent market in Mirepoix on Monday morning.
