There are some beautiful sites just minutes away, such as St Felix Lauragais, which is one of the most beautiful villages in France (don't miss having one of Gerard's' amazingly good salads or taking a peek into Sybella's Boutique or just sit and enjoy a glass of wine and some great music) .Many of the surrounding villages have small lakes, perfect for gentle strolls or even a spot of fishing. The photo is of Lac Lenclas where there is a simple restaurant, it is also home to a black swan and several times a year a Vide Grenier - the french equivalent of a Car Boot Sale.
St Felix is also home to a wonderful restaurant that we thoroughly recommend for a special occasion. - Auberge du Poids Public
Just 15 minutes drive away is Revel, a lovely town full of antique shops. Every Saturday morning throughout the year there is a market selling fresh produce, often from local farmers.
Just a few minutes from Revel is Lac St Ferreol at the base of the Black Mountains (Montagne Noire) This is the most perfect spot for a walk, a picnic or a little sport. There is an equestrian centre and it is possible to hire pedalos, wind surfing equipment and canoes. There is also mini golf, a rock climbing wall and tennis courts.

There are several restaurants and cafes around the lake, there is also a lovely arboretum.

The Canal du Midi also runs through this region, it was constructed in the 17th Century under the supervision of Pierre Paul Riquet. There is a museum dedicated to the canal and Riquet in Revel. Particularly of note is the Dam at Lake St Ferreol, it has been on the UNESCO world heritage list since 1996.
It is possible to hire bikes nearby and enjoy the wide flat paths that run alongside the canal, a very pleasant bike ride with the dappled shade provided by the plane trees. We are happy to reserve bikes on your behalf and even provide a picnic (please arrange in advance)
